I remember the day I decided I no longer wanted to work for anyone else. It was a liberating decision. Since then, I have learned what it means to own my own business.

As liberating as it is and as grateful as I am for it, it is not easy. I have had to learn the hard way and by trial and error what this transition truly meant. But even as challenging as it has been, it has also been the most rewarding and I could never go back.

Owning my own business meant I had to take on all the roles of the business; the owner, CEO, producer, artist, creator, marketing agent, financial advisor, accountant and so much more.

When you own your business it can feel overwhelming and we tend to work overtime because we love what we do. Because I love everything I do, finding life/work balance has been the most difficult lesson for me. 

When I worked as an employee, I never felt truly seen and recognized for my gifts. I felt like I was never given the opportunity and support to shine. I always felt like my light was dimmed, and it was because I was working for someone else, making money for someone else, working long hours to represent someone else. My face was the face of someone else’s vision and idea, someone else’s business. It never felt right. So when I made the transition it was exhilarating. 

However, I wish I had known back then everything I know now. It would have helped me start off on the right foot, get set up correctly as a business, know and understand how to keep track of all the financial stuff, and of course manage my time better.

This is why Ariel Maguire and I are so excited to be offering this Business School for Lightworkers, because we want to help Lightworkers like you make the transition.
